Abstract
MECH550 was originally conceived of as a Mezzanine Level course that could be taken by both undergraduate and graduate students. The content was the same for the two groups of students. The course is now being split into an undergraduate and graduate version of the class. The proposed MECH450 undergraduate class will use the same course material that had been offered in the Mezzanine MECH550 course. The MECH550 course was offered for the last 19 years and the undergraduate students have performed well with this course material. The only material difference for the undergraduate students is the course number change from MECH550 to MECH450. An advanced course MECH650 is being developed for the graduate students which incorporates additional and advanced course material.
