Abstract

Kettering University is eliminating 500 course numbers due to HLC concerns about our 500 level courses. Since our 500 level courses are defined as "mezzanine" they are not considered to be graduate courses by HLC. This puts a limit on how many 500 level courses a graduate student can take in the graduate program. According to HLC they cannot take more than five 500 courses.

Change reflects restructuring of the MSE program into 4xx/6xx courses and eliminating 500 level courses. Graduate students will now be expected to complete additional modeling/project work.
